Milton International Education Group (MIEG) is committed to promote learning through educational exchange and active participation in mutual sharing of cultural and intellectual resources.

MIEG has over 25 year experience in the education industry. It has delivered many degee programs in Hong Kong and China in association with universities around the world. In the new millennium, MIEG will continue to concentrate on its core activities, whilst drawing past experiences and building networks to bring knowledge one step closer to people's homes.


The foundation of MIEG was laid by Dr Edward I. Wong. Dr Wong began his career in the education sector in 1983 where he was the Principal of the Junior College and Deputy Director of Polytechnic College at the University of Macau. In the following two decades, he has managed the Seaker Chan Education Foundation which ran a high school, a primary school and a Canadian international school in Hong Kong. In mid 1990's Dr Wong extended his education expertise to the distance learning education field by forming the United Institute of International Education (UIIE), the Alliance of International Education (AIE), Institute of Further & Continuing Education (IFCE), Uni-Link (HK) Ltd., Carlson College and Betterment College.


Throughout those years, Dr Wong has made many achievements in the education sector and has been a pioneer in many aspects of education. In 1984, he was the first to introduce and implement associate degree program in Southeast Asia, widening learning opportunities for secondary school graduates of Hong Kong, China and Macau. Because of this innovative program, University of Macau was permitted by the People Republic of China Government to recruit mainland : Chinese students to enrol in this program at the University or Macau since 1985. In 1995, he was the first to introduce nursing programs for registered nurses, lifting the academic standards, performance and professionalism of nurses in Hong Kong health care sector. Then in 1999, he was the first to offer British university PhD program on-site in China. With his establishments in education in the mid-90s, he has experienced over 5000 students graduated from the higher education programs offered by him in collaboration with universities around the world.


Dr Wong plays a director role at MIEG, bring in his academic and administrative expertise, associations and networks with universities around the world.


In 2005, MIEG was accreditied and approved by the Accrediting Council for Indepentent Colleges and Schools of USA (ACICS) to be the University of Northern Virginia's (UNVA) Hong Kong Branch Campus to offer UNVA's undergraduate and graduate degree courses in Hong Kong.

Carlson College
Carlson College is a constituent college under the Institute of Further and Continuing Education (IFCE) which was founded in 1980 in Hong Kong as a non-profit making institution, to meet the growing needs for international education in Hong Kong and China. It is officially registered with the Education and Manpower Bureau of the Hong Kong Government. The credentials were obrained and certified by the eudcation Department of Hong Kong Government. The credentials obtained in Carlson College are recognized locally and by other international institutions.


Betterment College
Betterment College is a constituent college operated by the Hong Kong North Point District (Kai-Fong) Welfare Advancement Association which was founded in 1949 in Hong Kong as a non-profit making organization to promote the welfares of local citizens. Betterment College is officially registered with the Education and Manpower Bureau of Hong Kong Government. The credentials obtained in Betterment College are recognized locally and by other international institutions.

Diploma Programs
Betterment College, Carlson College and MIEG offer One-Year Diploma Program, Two-Year Associate Diploma Program and Three-Year Advanced Diploma Program with majors in Management Studies in Hong Kong.
